Alina
The door opened once more as Anya walked in with Dimitri, Piotr and Alexei. They all bore those sadistic smiles of theirs. It was almost as if it was always stuck on their porcelain faces.
‘Ahh Anya, you certainly did a number on her,’ Piotr said, sounding satisfied. Not just satisfied, he almost seemed proud too.
‘I would have done more, but you wanted her alive,’ Anya said as she took a step closer. ‘I have to say, she is stronger than she looks. She certainly can take her punishment,’ she added.
‘That is without a doubt. After all, she took down centuries old vampires with ease,’ Alexei said.
‘And I will take you down too when the time comes,’ I said as I glared at them. Dimitri smirked as he came forward.
‘Not before we ruin you,’ he said as he came even closer. ‘For centuries, werewolves and vampires have been mortal enemies. Your pack, they love you and see you as their Luna but what would they say if you’re one of us?’ he asked.
I gasped at the very thought. I could feel my eyes widen while my heart started to beat even louder. ‘What are you talking about?’ I said, suddenly feeling terrified.
‘Ohh do you hear the way her heart just started racing?’ Piotr asked mockingly. ‘I think you know the answer to your own question Alina,’ he added.
‘They won’t just kill you if you do that to me,’ I said but Alexei shrugged.
‘It won’t matter then. We would have turned you into the thing they hate the most,’ Alexei said.
‘No,’ I said just as Dimitri held my face. He looked at the others and nodded. ‘NO!! NO!!’ I yelled as I began to thrash about, trying to free myself.
I heard laughter just as I was held down more fiercely. Piotr took my arm while Alexei took my other one. Then, I felt their teeth sink into my skin, causing me to scream.
It burned as my body felt the unwanted bite and mark. I could almost feel the venom running through my veins as it burned into my bloodstream. My marks from Taehyung and Yoongi burned as well. It felt like my skin and blood were on fire.
‘The whole transformation will take around eighteen hours. It…’ Dimitri said but was cut off as the door opened and a guard rushed in.
‘My lords, my lady, I’m sorry to barge in but they found us. They’re attacking the castle,’ he said urgently.
‘What? HOW? How did not anyone detect them?’ Piotr howled as he walked away from me.
‘Fairies my lord. The fairies are helping them,’ he said. ‘They masked their scent.’
‘Dammit. Anya stay with her. Make sure no one gets to her. Come on, let’s go,’ Dimitri said. I watched as Dimitri, Piotr and Alexei and the guard left the room, leaving me alone with Anya once more.
‘I have to admit, I didn’t think they would come this quick. This palace, this fortress is securely hidden. So, tell me little Miss Alina, how did they find us so quickly?’ Anya asked.
I did not answer, feeling too disheartened and broken. They had bitten me and eventually I would turn into a vampire. I would turn into the thing that I hate the most in my life, along with those damned hunters. What would the boys say? I know they love me but how can they love me as a vampire? Their mortal enemy? I could not live as a vampire. I refused to!
‘What the hell!’ I heard Anya yell suddenly, forcing me to look up. I saw Jia standing right in front of her as she suddenly put the wooden stake through her heart. Jia pulled a sword and cut off Anya’s head, causing it to roll away.
Jia turned to me and gasped. ‘Wow you look like *,’ she said as she came and started to remove the chains.
‘They… they bit me Jia,’ I said. Jia stopped as she looked at me.
‘*. Don’t worry, we’ll think of something. One thing at a time, okay?’ She asked and I nodded. She removed the chains and I fell forward, into her arms.
‘My… my boys?’ I asked. Jia held me up as she removed her jacket and gave it to me since I wasn’t wearing a shirt.
‘They’re here. Don’t worry, Shang and Don are with them. I just had an easier route to come to you,’ Jia said with a wink while she helped me put on the jacket.
‘We need to go help them,’ I said and she nodded. She grabbed my arm and suddenly, I felt a jolt. There was no way to describe it, except maybe that it felt like I jumped or fell. One moment I was in that dungeon, the next, I was right in the middle of the hall.
I saw the wolves, more than just my boys going after the vampires who attacked back. It seemed like most of the pack was here. Right in the middle, not far from us were Shang and Don. Shang was throwing wooden stakes as if he was throwing darts. I could see Don looking at vampires who stood still for a second and then fell to the ground.
‘Ah Alina, it’s good to see you again,’ Shang said as he threw yet another stake. I nodded as I saw my wolves look at me. I heard growling and whining, probably because of their hurt seeing me like this.
‘I’m okay,’ I said, trying to ease their worries. I saw two vampires going after one of the wolves so I raised my hands and threw two fireballs at them, stopping them in their tracks. The wolf turned to look at me and nodded in appreciation. If I was not mistaken, that was Moonbyul.
I saw two other vampires holding down Huening Kai. I raised my hands as roots came out from the ground below us. I moved my hands once more as I sent them towards the vampires, encircling at their waist and pressed. They yelled in pain but I kept pressing until the roots cut off their bodies.
I heard a whine and I turned to look. I saw Jimin being hit. ‘Let him go!’ I screamed as I raised my hand and forced that vampire to fly against the wall. I raised my hands once more as I kept sending vampires flying about.
One by one, the vampires were falling. Shang, Jia and Don came next to me as Dimitri, Piotr and Alexei walked right in front of us. They looked absolutely livid.
‘I told you what would happen,’ I said as the wolves came behind me. ‘I told you, they will put your so called army to the ground,’ I said.
‘How?’ Piotr asked in disbelief. ‘We’ve lived centuries. We’re some of the strongest vampires in existence. This clan, it was one of the most feared,’ he said.
‘All those centuries are for nothing if you do not understand how strong love is,’ I said.
‘It doesn’t matter. You will die for love or you will become one of us,’ Dimitri said.
‘I will never be one of you. I’d rather die than become a vampire,’ I said.
‘That is will happen if you do not feed once your transition is ready,’ Alexei said. I heard my boys whining and growling as they stepped forward, clearly unhappy with the thought.
‘No matter what you do or what happens to us, we win,’ Piotr said.
‘Not if we can help it,’ Jia said as Shang and Don nodded as well. Don raised his hand and balled them into a fist while the three elders fell to their knees, gasping in pain. He continued to squeeze his fist until they all fell dead. I clicked my finger, creating a large flame and sent it their way.
‘Let’s go,’ I said as I turned towards the wolves. They kept looking at me and for a moment I was grateful I could not hear their thoughts right now. We walked out, reaching the door.
I stopped and turned to look. ‘You can all burn to hell,’ I said as I touched the walls, sending tongues of fire to burn the whole place down. We continued to walk while the adrenaline started to dwindle. The burning sensation came again and I stopped walking, resting against a tree.
‘A—Alina?’ Jimin asked. I turned around to find my seven maters looking at me with tears in their eyes. The others remained a certain distance, giving us privacy.
‘He—hello bo—boys,’ I said weakly. I was losing grip but Taehyung and Yoongi were quick to hold me. They helped to lower down slowly so that I could be on the ground. I rested my head on Yoongi’s lap while he played with my hair. Taehyung was by my side, holding my hand firmly.
‘Goddess, what did they do to you?’ Jin asked as they all kneeled down next to me. He was eyeing me – every wound Anya inflicted on me.
‘I’m sorry princess,’ Namjoon said. I tilted my head as I looked at him confused. ‘I failed to protect you. I failed to keep you safe,’ he said but I shook my head.
‘That’s not true Joonie,’ I said. ‘We were attacked Joonie. You fought for me and protected me. You got bit to save me,’ I said. Namjoon sighed but didn’t say anything.
‘They bit you, didn’t they?’ Taehyung asked. I gulped because it was useless to lie. I nodded and he sighed.
‘*!’ Jungkook yelled as he stood up. I watched him as he walked towards the tree and punched it.
‘Kooks,’ I called out weakly. He didn’t seem to hear me as he punched the tree again. Hoseok stood up and went to Jungkook. He was murmuring sweet things to him, finally convincing him to turn around and come back to us. His eyes were red and his cheeks stained with tears.
‘I’m sorry,’ I said but Taehyung shook his head and squeezed my hand tighter.
‘Shhh it’s not your fault baby. Don’t apologize,’ he said.
‘I don’t want to be a vampire Taehyung. I don’t want to,’ I said as tears fell down my cheek. Jimin was quick to wipe them away from me.
‘Don’t cry princess,’ he said, even if his voice was cracking. I shook my head as I winced from the sudden burning.
‘Calm down. You’re not going to help yourself if you agitate yourself love,’ Yoongi said.
‘I can’t be a vampire. I refuse to be,’ I said as I tried to sit up. Jin was quick to help Yoongi hold me. ‘I can’t be the thing I’ve always worked against,’ I said.
‘I understand sweetie, we all do but…’ Hoseok began as I shook my head. ‘What are you even trying to say?’ he asked quietly. I took a deep breath before I looked at him.
‘I’d rather die than become a vampire,’ I said, sounding determined. I heard Jimin and Jin gasp while Taehyung seemed to squeeze me even tighter.
‘No, no don’t talk like that. Please,’ Jungkook said as he shook his head. I looked at his hand which was bleeding. I smiled a little as I grabbed his hand and placed mine over his. ‘Wh—what? No, stop, conserve your energy my love,’ he said but I shook my head. Light came out of my hand as his knuckles healed. He sniffed as I looked at him.
‘This is who I am. This is what I am. I can’t be a vampire,’ I said.
‘But you can’t ask us to let you die either,’ Taehyung said, his voice breaking.
‘We love you too much Alina,’ Hoseok said as he touched my face gently. ‘We’ll still love you, even if you’re a vampire,’ he said.
‘You can’t. You can’t love me as a vampire. I’ll be the thing that you hate,’ I said with new tears.
‘No, no Alina. We would never hate you, no matter what,’ Jin said. We heard someone clear their throats and I looked up to see Jia with Shang and Don who were trying to not look at my boys who were naked.
‘There might be a way to stop the transition,’ Jia began while I looked at her confused.
‘Really? I never thought that was possible,’ Jungkook asked.
‘It’s um, well, a delicate process,’ Shang said as he looked at me. He gulped as he looked at me uncertainly. ‘It’s dangerous, could be life threatening,’ he added.
‘But it can stop me from becoming a vampire?’ I asked, feeling hopeful.
‘Alina wait. Please, they said it can kill you,’ Taehyung said but I shook my head.
‘I have to Tae. Please,’ I said as I looked at them. No one said anything as an uncomfortable and tense silence filled the air.
